This course focuses on landscape modeling in raster-based GIS.  We will begin by examining fundamental concepts of raster analysis techniques and then apply these technique to model landscapes. The class will cover common modeling approaches in raster GIS and land-cover/-use analyses through a series of laboratory assignments. We will also examine spatial data quality and model validation.

Prerequisites: Introductory class in GIS
