| UW-Madison Esri Site License |
|
BackgroundUW-Madison is part of the UW-System-wide site license which includes most Esri products. The UW-Madison portion is currently administered through the Land Information and Computer Graphics Facility (LICGF). In essence, in exchange for $27,000 per year in maintenance, UW-Madison has unlimited rights to copy and install Esri products for use by campus departments, institutes, and centers. Master copies of the media are kept at LICGF, and can be checked out for installation. A copy of the User's Agreement for the UW-Madison is here. Technical supportUW-Madison has up to six people authorized to contact Esri for technical support. You will not be able to submit requests to Esri directly... you must go through one of the authorized Esri specialists. (Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet - Note: please look for the "esri_specialist" tab in the spreadsheet... tech support requests should NOT go to the "esri_primary" contacts. ) Student Versions of ArcGISEsri offers an ArcGIS Student license for use by students taking GIS-related courses or programs at the UW-Madison. Faculty need only to fill out the following webform on the Esri site to receive copies or activation codes for software for distribution to students: www.esri.com/industries/apps/education/offers/promo/index.cfm Student software is at the ArcInfo license level and includes the Spatial Analyst, 3D Analyst, Geostatistical Analyst, Data Interoperability, Publisher, Schematics, Tracking Analyst, ArcScan, Maplex and Network Analyst extensions. Fee Schedule for ESRI ProductsThe following breakdown is for desktop Esri products. Fees are collected by the UW-Madison LICGF on or before August 31 of each year to pay the annual Site License fee to Esri. To decrease the complexity of maintaining the site license, including bookkeeping and database management, we have made changes to the structure of site license fees. We are now offering a Departmental license, network license, and individual machine licenses for unlimited numbers of products. Individual Licenses For those who only want one or a few of the products, on one CPU. We encourage interested parties to contact their departments or MIS folks about purchasing network or departmental licenses.
*Note: ArcGIS Server and Desktop together $650. Our yearly fees are small (~10%) compared to the yearly maintenance charged by Esri for these products retail, and the street prices of these software packages range from $100 (BusinessMap ) to $26,000 (Arc/Info NT). Registration fees are one-time for new users of each software package per order. A copy of the installation DVD is available for $15 Upgrades are free. | Back to the Top | Network CPU Licenses for Multiple Products
