Professor Aslıgül Göçmen's primary research and teaching interests are in the areas of urban environmental sustainability, the role of planners in promoting environmental stewardship, and the application of spatial analysis and geographic information science and systems in urban, environmental and regional planning. Her current research involves an investigation of barriers to the effective use of GIS in planning among local and regional governments in Wisconsin and an investigation about environmental merits of open space conservation subdivisions in Southeast Wisconsin.
Interests: Urban environmental sustainability, the role of planners in promoting environmental stewardship, and the application of spatial analysis and geographic information science and systems in urban, environmental and regional planning
